I am a flower.
Petals fell off, some sucker tried to pick on me now my crown hangs skew.
I am a flower though I may not look the part – no Sun’s light ever touched the silhouette of my skin but it burned. Or dried the life right out of me. Shriveled up my face like brown paper bags and left me crumbling , burning for more. Empty in the dark.
I thought I might’ve been a Cambridge Nightflower. All poisonly proper. An unassuming death or perhaps a vicious seperating of a soul and its life.
But alas, no light,no night, no moon, has ever seen me bloom. And no one ever dared to drink of my insaneous brew.
Except me, of course.
And maybe you.
If I were a flower I’d be gone as I’m forgotten. Shit, then I guess I really must be the tree 🤷
